What we keep
- No accounts, no email, no names. We never ask who you are, how old you are, or where you live or go to school.
- Converters: the numbers you type go in the page address and are worked out on the spot. We do not save them anywhere, apart from the web server’s standard access log of page addresses (below).
- Sheets: we store what you type on a sheet, its saves (history) and when it was last opened. The sheet’s link holds a key; we store only a scrambled form (SHA-256) of it, so we cannot look up or recover a sheet from our side. Anyone who has the link can open and change the sheet, so do not put passwords or personal details on it.
- Deleting: the Delete button removes a sheet and its history at once. Sheets not opened for 400 days are deleted automatically. Nightly database backups are kept for 14 days, then replaced.
- Abuse limits: to stop floods of new sheets we count requests per address per hour and day. The address is stored only as a salted hash and the counts are deleted after two days.
- Cookies: one security cookie on pages with a save form, so a form cannot be sent from another site. No tracking cookies and no analytics services. The site’s own scripts, styles and fonts are all served from this site; the only outside service any page loads is the banner ad from adengine.us on the public pages, described under Advertising below, which also counts one page view per page as a daily total.
- Server logs: the web server keeps standard access logs (address, time, page) for security, as every web host does.
Advertising
Since 17 October 2026 the home page, the three converters, the method page and Pricing show one banner ad from AdEngine (adengine.us), the small ad network run by WeldonPC, the company behind this site. For now the ads are for WeldonPC’s own services. Your sheet and its history, print and export pages, the new-sheet form, this page and the terms show no ad, so a sheet link never reaches adengine.us.
To show an ad, your browser loads a script from adengine.us, asks it for one banner, loads the banner image, and reports once that the page was viewed and once that the banner was shown. Like any website, adengine.us receives your network address (IP address) and your browser type with those requests. The requests name this site, but never the page you are on, so the numbers you type into a converter stay here.
- No cookies, no profile. AdEngine sets no cookies, gives you no ID and does not track you from site to site.
- How your network address is used. adengine.us looks up the approximate city for your address in a location database kept on its own server (nothing is sent to anyone else), so that ads meant for one area are shown only there. It also uses the address to count each ad view or click only once and to leave out robots and WeldonPC’s own office traffic. The address is not stored with the counts; the temporary entries made from it expire within six hours and are cleared from the server within two days.
- What is kept. Daily totals only: page views for this site, and views and clicks for each ad. The adengine.us web server also keeps a standard access log (network address, time, address requested, referring site, browser) for security; it is deleted on a rolling schedule.
- Clicking an ad passes through adengine.us, which counts the click, and then opens the advertiser’s site, which has its own privacy policy.
- Nothing about you is sold or shared.
